Get Rid of An Objective Today

Have you thought about one objective?

Just one thing?

Often, we try to get everything thing “in.” We don’t do this for the project or the team. We do this for ourselves because we’re scared of:

  • Running out of “time” – “There are only 24 hours in a day. USE ALL OF THEM”
  • Looking lazy/disinterested – ” No one is going to say I’m not busy.”
  • Not keeping up – “Company/Team X launched today, we need to match that and keep our own goals.”

Like most fears, sometimes, these feelings are rational. We do need to show up, work hard, and stay aware.  This isn’t the case most of the time. Usually, we’re scared because we feel we aren’t enough.

Today, I want you to trust that you are.

As an experiment, try eliminating at least one “objective” for yourself or your team, and do so without the usual guilt. My bet is you’ll notice you didn’t need to do it, anyway.
