There is no “scale.”
Why do you cling so harshly to the concept of normal? Normal is an idea planted in our heads by the power structure.
What are you some paragon of society? The ideas of “society” tend only to benefit those that control it.
At the end of the day, what we have, who we are, and how people remember us isn’t based on some “normal” scale. How empathetic we are, how kind we are, and how much value we leave to those in our charge, well – that is how the world, our world, will remember us.
When is the last time you exhibited the attributes that you want in your obituary without bound?
Mine are kindness, empathy, and curiosity. None of those things are “normal.” Those things cause mistakes. If I did them “boundlessly” I’d look crazy to those “normal” people around me. In being “boundless,” I am asking for mistakes, weird looks, and feeling uncomfortable. At my best, I don’t care.
Most of the time though, I do.
I have some work to do.
I bet you do as well.
Be human.
Be here.
Please.
