Attention:
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a privacy measure passed in Europe, exercises a fine on any web property that doesn’t allow you to opt-out of data collection, especially if they use your data for monetization.
We here at Life as Usual don’t use your data for any monies (Look ma, no ads!). We do, however, applaud this legislation because we believe in earning your attention.
That statement didn’t take too long for me to type. It has a definition, my viewpoint, and gives the reader an understanding of whats going on.
Most companies (Facebook, Twitter, and Google among them) have spent millions of dollars not to do any of those things.
This is significant legislation, and if I asked the average person what GDPR was, they wouldn’t know. Why would you spend time obfuscating the truth? With the distrust currently surrounding those companies, what a missed opportunity to build trust through information. Instead of apologizing, show your respect by valuing your customers and enriching how they see the world.
Way better than a bland commercial.
An informed populace is only troubling to a tyrant.
