“Do better” without clear context to both parties will backfire.
Advice only counts if the following is true:
- They believe you are worthy of giving advice
- They believe you understand their point of view
- They believe you care.
- And most importantly, if they believe you.
Unrequited advice is as good as the Charlie Brown noise.
