Why do we get the urge to go bumper to bumper in traffic?
- It doesn’t help us move any faster
- We don’t earn any favors with the driver in front of us
- Our car is far less safe this way
And yet, we do it.
Why?
It gives us an out. Suddenly, we have an excuse to the other drivers, the people we are trying to get to, and the people we just left.
“I did everything I could!” All of a sudden, we have a new story to tell.
And the price of that story is us in far more trouble than if we just gave the car ahead space.
