“Killed” isn’t “die.”
You don’t allow yourself to die.
Those two words aren’t the same, and neither are their implications philosophically. The difference is slight in wording, but the shadow of the word “failure” in “kill” changes how it affects you.
The ability to metaphorically die is the key to live outrageously, to enrich your humanity.
When they metaphorically kill you, they smother their humanity in spite of themselves.
Resentment will kill.
