Generosity is everywhere, and no where at all.
What do I mean by that?
Generosity is everywhere
Someone opening a door for someone or giving up their place in line happens, often, without us thinking about it. As people, our natural inclination is to be generous at the moment. We empathize. This is us, right out of the package, no need to change. All the proof you need – ever see a baby give food to another baby without even knowing how to talk? Voila.
Generosity is no where at all
We are constantly trying to ship. Get things out the door. As soon as that finishes, we are off to the next one. Very little time to think about what we do OR even how we do it. NEXT. We think we don’t have time to give generous feedback or critique. Always “forward.”
This month, I would like to investigate how we move from unconscious generosity to conscious generosity. How do we make that door opening just as constant as us opening a door for a friend?
I think learning how to make that change opens up a ton of opportunities, and makes our networks a little better as well – who doesn’t want someone that is generous in their circle?
