Progress Isn’t Free

Was thinking about Frederick Douglass Today

A few quotes:

If there is no struggle, there is no progress.
Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.
Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground.

What We Are

Hero’s suffer through times of stress, paranoia, and fear.

To make a great hero, the viewer or reader has to sympathize with him. Not only that, he has to be able to put himself in his shoes, if only for a moment, to empathize with him.

In short, there must be an honesty that we feel.

We weave stories about things we see, who we are, and what makes us tick. We constantly provide the best version of ourselves to the outside world.

With that said, it is tough to show the pain and the problems with being ourselves.

Since we are so busy creating a great story where we are the hero, wouldn’t it make sense to be honest so the viewer can understand?
