Quitting isn’t evil.
When most of us are young, we “learn” that quitting is a negative trait. “If you really want something and decided to get it, you must keep going and don’t stop.”
This is great advice for robots.
We aren’t robots.
We have limited time. Therefore, humans quit. Every time we do, we try to reconcile our actions with the “don’t quit” advice. From that disconnect, we create cognitive dissonance, and weird stuff starts to happen.
We aren’t tied to our decisions permanently.
It is OK to “quit” if you need to.
