Digging In The Crates (DITC)

Old becomes new

Old notes are a treasure trove of information. Unfortunately, I don’t go back and explore as much as I need to.

Luckily enough, for me, I spent time this morning doing so. After breakfast, I opened up my “Notes” app and looked through a few of them.

After a relatively quick glance, I recognized notes full of tips about UX, CX, and organization building. These are things I appreciate, and as I prepare to start a new job in the coming days, things I need to remember.

This experience functioned as a reminder:

  1. The obvious, it is important to write things down. When you have a moment or two, taking the time to jot down a few thoughts is helpful in many ways, chief among them is you don’t have to remember them.
  2. Review – this is where I fail, generally. What did you write, and why is it essential. This lesson, again, one I have to teach myself over and over, is that nothing matters until you make it relevant.  How and why does it matter now or in the future? (This is part of the reason this blog exists, btw)

I recently purchased a Farnam Street Decision journal (sold out, unfortunately)  to help keep me in line, and I plan on using it sooner, rather than later.

If you want to know more about a decision journal, click here.

Otherwise, wish me luck.

Post-It Notes

Post-It notes are a part of my life now.

They are disposible and allow a count to be had when your crush them.

I see the number on my desk, I know I am making progress, it is better than a static to-do list.

Short Notes

Was late again.

Woke up at 8 but just didn’t want to get up. I should address that somehow.

I have to find a reason to get up, and a reward for doing it. Time to review my habit stuff on that.

I want to start taking notes on books that I read. I am sort of curious to see what comes of it.I have heard it makes ytou remember more, and most people just end up remebering

It should help me remember what I am reading more often.

I am deciding to keep it short today.

Its Friday.
